Fuelled by an abundance of natural resources, the isle of Arran’s energetic ‘Taste of Arran’ network of food and drink producers has helped put the island firmly on the Scottish foodie map.
The range of food and drink here is impressive: from every-day essentials like freshly baked bread and traditional Scottish oatcakes, fruit preserves, chutneys, and mustards, locally produced and pasteurized milk, and a whole host of cheeses, to indulgent treats such as traditional dairy ice creams & sorbets, handmade chocolates, real ales, and single malt whisky.
Started in 2001, Taste of Arran is a sales, marketing, and distribution company representing the very best artisan producers on the island. Our food and drink here are made using as many natural ingredients as possible: the milk for our cheeses and ice-cream is collected daily from the island’s dairy farm. Our award-winning products are handmade by people who care passionately about food and the wonderful environment in which they’re lucky enough to live and work. In 2007 we were the first food producers in the UK to achieve SALSA (Safe and Local Supplier Accreditation).
Since its inception, ToA has been an extremely successful collaborative business, unique in structure and delivery, it has been used as a model by many other regions and groups throughout Scotland and as far afield as the Middle East and the USA. Taste of Arran markets sells and distributes products from the Isle of Arran to retail and foodservice customers throughout Scotland, the UK, and the rest of the world.
